Dr. Lautrec and The Forgotten Knights
Dr. Lautrec and The Forgotten Knights is very much like the Professor Layton series . Although its similar it deffintely is its own story and has unique gameplay , not only word , number , object and image puzzles , but strategy & map quests as well . It has well known actors who often are on bbc classics as the voice actors . The graphics are amazing and the game will keep you busy for quite a few hours since even when You beat it , You can still play quests over again and each time You do it will be different. Dr . Lautrec doesn't want fame or fortune , just the thrill of solving puzzles , He often has run - ins will the police , since the Cheif of police doesn't like treasure hunters & since he 's not above breaking into a building to find what he 's looking for . His asstiant Sophie rather likes Him and helps him by seeing the spirits in the treasures " treasure animautus " which helps You fight other Spirits and gain the treasure and experience . Each is a different type and some are stronger against certain stronger spirits. This game has lots of RPG elements . So if Your looking for something like Professor Layton yet different and exciting adventures ,Then I Highly reccomend You Get this game . I'm glad I did & it's now one of My fav 3ds games . It 's and awesome game at a great price . It came quickly & I would use these sellers again.

The games ok but nothing like professor Layton
The game played alright. I was expecting harder puzzles rather than fit these blocks in the right places and crosswords... I mean they could have stuck quizzes in there about French history since they where giving historical information to unlock doors, they also could have had dr. Lautrec sword fight or outwit the other characters.I would recommend this game to 8 year olds.

Fell Short of Expectations (I did not go very far in the game.)
I had read reviews about this game written by other consumers, but I evidently did not read enough. I was expecting a Professor Layton knock-off puzzle game that was not as engaging as the Professor Layton series, but would still be enjoyable to play. I was sorely disappointed.I was initially attracted to the game because of the cheaper price and the historical slant to the story. Though there are a fair amount of historical facts in the game, the way they are presented is quite annoying. Doctor Lautrec quizzes his female companion (who also happens to be in love with him) on a certain topic, she boasts about her knowledge to impress him, and then when she invariably gives him incomplete or incorrect information he stomps all over her and calls her an idiot.Another irritating part of the game are the boringly simple puzzles. To be honest, I only got through a very small part of the game, but from what I did see of the puzzles I was not impressed. There was also the strange addition of a pokemon-like aspect of the game that made no sense at all. Finally, in the first part of the game a large man grabs a reporter that is dressed like Professor Layton and shakes him around, declaring that he is just as good as Dr. Lautrec and better. The whole game seems to be a farcical imitation of Professor Layton.

Its Interesting..
if you like Professor Layton you will enjoy this game.. the game is along the same idea solve puzzles to continue the story, so far the puzzles are enjoyable and not unbearably hard and the story line is great. if you like brain teasers then this is one game that should not be over looked

Too Frustrating to Be Fun
This game is nothing like Professor Layton games which offer a wide variety of puzzles. Instead it consists mostly of going through really frustrating mazes in which you have to have to push crates around while avoiding numerous wandering police officers. Once one spots you, you have to restart the room and any progress you made in pushing the crates around is lost. Every once in a while you get a special puzzle to solve which is a simple spot the difference or jigsaw type puzzle. There is also a role playing type aspect in which you collect treasures by defeating then in a weird battle system. All of this is wrapped up in a decent story set in 19th Century Great Britain. The graphics, music and voice acting are fine. But the crate pushing part of the game is so annoying, I have no desire to play.
