87063 Masking Tape 40mm

I have tried different types of tape for selective staining on woodworking projects as a furniture maker and the painter's tape you buy in the home centers is for latex paint, solvent based products and water borne clear coats will release the adhesive and/or leak under the tape. I bought the 6, 18, and 40 mm wide for different applications. It covers well and is somewhat transparent so you can see thru to what you are taping to below. Just make sure to burnish the edge so paint can't get under it.

It's not a toy. It's a paint masking tape. I bought the narrow and the wide for different applications, and this works better than scotch tape or painter's tape. It releases well and covers well. Just make sure to burnish the edge so paint can't get under it, and remove it while the paint's still wet.

It works fine, but it is different from Tamiya’s narrower masking tapes. This 40mm tape is more brittle, thinner and more easily torn. I’d have given it 5 stars if it had a similar feel to their other tapes.

Great for masking off for airbrushing. Not very sticky so that should help with no paint peeling. Could probably get same result with something from Target etc in the tape section. However I would buy this again though over regular masking tape.

Honestly i was surprised with how bad this ended up being. I use Tamiya tape all of the time, and the there was almost no tack on this tape. It barely adheres. This seems to only happen with the 40mm roll. Anything smaller and the tape works perfectly. I gave it 3 stars due to the 40mm roll being bad. Otherwise Tamiya brand tape is some of the best tape for masking. Anyone interested in buying, just note, this could simply be due to my roll being from a much older batch.

I used this tape when assembling plastic model aircraft. It does a great job at holding pieces together while the adhesives set and it works great in masking for painting

Similar to the other Tamiya masking tapes I've used, this much wider 40mm roll is just as good as the smaller versions. I use this when I have large surfaces to mask and it works like a charm. Typically, I'll use the 6mm or 10mm tape for finer detail work or to "edge" a larger surface, then come in with the 40mm to cover the rest of the space. Has just the right amount of tackiness to hold, but comes up without removing any of the finish that was covered underneath.

False advertising. This is NOT Tamiya tape - this is Kamoi tape - a completely different product. Does not behave like Tamiya tape Does not cut like Tamiya tape Does not stick like Tamiya tape Much poorer quality than Tamiya tape Difficult to remove from roll without tearing. It is much thinner than Tamiya tape. If you were expecting Tamiya tape based on the sellers description - be ready to be ripped off

Has to be one of my favourite masking tapes, when it comes masking all sorts of models.

pas bon pour le Bed d'une imprimante 3d car le plastique ne colle pas mais sinon super pour du masking tape.

En contraste con otros productos para enmascarar de Tamiya esta cinta es extremadamente frágil y apenas se adhiere a las superficies y tiende a despegarse sola, propiciando que se produzcan filtrados de pintura que pueden arruinarte el trabajo. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.
