Aqua MX24 Extreme Glow in The Dark Paint Daytime Invisible Range 1oz

When I was a kid, I loved and collected everything that glows in the dark. Why did it take me until deep into adulthood to find this paint? It's awesome! On the very first night, I painted all the light switches, my alarm clock buttons, my backpack zippers, and my son's bunkbed ladder rungs, plus I painted a stripe on my glasses, I painted "Hi!" on the toilet seat and put a spot on our bearded dragon's back (probably not advised). So fun!How bright does it glow and how long does it last you may ask? Well, it reminds me a lot of the toys I had as a kid. If you keep them under bright light for quite a while, they will glow for a long time (and it has to be pretty dark before you can see it). If I read for a bit before bed and all my glow-painted stuff is there soaking up the light, they will glow at least 6 hours, probably more.So -- this paint is awesome, and though it's not a huge jar, you don't need a lot. It dries clear (though not invisible -- it's glossy). And you can't expect miracles if you don't do what you need to do: Put the item in bright light, as long as possible, and then view the item in as dark a place as possible. It will work!

Ok, so I was initially surprised to see how little 1oz really is and had to rethink my painting project since I assumed I would now get less coverage. This jar is smaller than a small size jar of baby food for reference. Sure, it says 1oz, but you really need a visual.After figuring I had too little paint, we moved on to painting our outdoor glow in the dark rocks (camping trip craft). We actually had enough paint in the small jar for all of the rocks in the jar (about 24 small rocks).As for the glow factor, it doesn't glow as bright as the picture (I wasn't expecting it to), but the kids were impressed and pleased nonetheless. The description is correct in stating that the paint reacts better when exposed to sunlight than indoor light. You will get a brighter glow.Lastly, we also received a little keychain black light which the kids enjoyed shining on various things including the rocks. Fun all around.

It certainly works. I used a UV light to charge this, and it glows very well. But, given the crystal nature of it, it is rough, and after a few coats is definitely visible as far as texture goes, and it makes it difficult to get a smooth glow. You can see in my image that it is speckled, even where I put 7 coats, on the TV.

I bought this paint to apply to the hands of a bedroom wall clock. I wanted something I could see in the middle of the night.As other users have noted, the paint has a grainy quality. It doesn't brush on smoothly. It took some time and patience to lay down the four or five coats I needed to give an even, bright glow. I expected this and was willing to work with it. It adhered well to the painted metal clock hands.The result is spectacular. Though the number of layers required did create a buildup, it's lightweight and not so thick that it interferes with the clock movement. The clock gets no direct sunlight, but the glow-hands are amply charged by regular electric light in the room, and sometimes I hit them with the included keychain black-light before bed for an extra-glowy glow. The paint stays bright enough to distinguish in the dark most of the night, and they look fantastic.By the way, the glow-in-the-dark color is a pale, eerie kind of blue, more "ghost" than "rave". Just what I wanted.

So I've tested several of these paints, and they are all close to each other in terms of initial brightness and brightness + afterglow length. This MX24 paint ranked 3rd because after several hours, it was a little bit dimmer than 2 other brands.Certainly not a bad paint, you cannot go wrong with it. I will use it after my "best" ones are used-up before buying more.

We used it for a solar system model setup and it's perfect It paints on practically clear but then when left in any legitimate UV light for even a few moments it glows intensely so much so that it actually casts a shadow, really impressed with the performance of this stuff! Highly recommend

The number of people saying this stuff works is truly troubling. Are they paid?Doesn't work. The tubes will glow, but won't cast ambient light. An object painted with 3-4 generous layers did not glow in a closet.This is marketed for painting night skies on interiors. I also did just that. No glow after a whole day charging. Insufficient "glowing pigment" to make any sort of noticeable effect. Not even the faintest glow was seen.The seller advertises the product as "extreme" and "professional acrylic". Nonsense. No glow, and as a painter, I can confirm that the paint absolutely lacks a usable viscosity. It is bargain brand at most. The paint dries like crunchy pocket lint with fuzzy pockets spread out over it. Very unpleasant looking, and not very easy to spread. When does product speech approach lying? With Aqua MX24 Extreme.Do not buy, unless you like leaving 1-star reviews.UPDATE: I painted something else, and absolutely gooped it on. When it is thick to the point of being absolutely non-transparent, THEN and only then will the non-transparent parts glow. But it's got to be on thick, I mean, whatever is underneath it will be invisible. It does glow tho. So there's that.

Good product, but not quite what I wanted. I should of (RTFL) my bad.

Unsuitable for black clock hands.
