TERRIBLE Fridge
I bought the CS 1360 a couple years ago. I live in Manhattan and was initially impressed by it's compactness and storage space. In the 2 years i've had it, the fridge has broken several times. The heating tube broke, then the sensor broke (twice!), then the ice maker broke.Liebherr contracts out servicing to a servicing company in Arizona, this company then in term sub contracts to local repair shops, many of whom were not trained properly. I was told by one of the service guys that it broke again because the part was never installed properly by the previous service guy.The ice maker broke again after the warranty runs out - the customer service was not helpful at all, and flat out treated it like it's not their problem. He did recommend a local repair shop, who told me Liehberr services in generally is much more expensive than other appliances. Flat $175 just for the guy to come take a look, any parts or installation fees will be on top that. All in all, this is a terrible fridge and i would not recommend to anyone. Will never purchase any products from the company again.

Premium price for a shoddy product
This review is for CS1301, the previous generation of the same Liebherr refrigerator which I bought 4 years ago. 2 1/2 years after my purchase, the freezer failed to freeze. Since it was out of the short 1-year factory warranty I had to paid for the service referred to by the Liebherr customer service hot line. That service call was $850 to replace a sensor and fan. For that much money I could have bought a brand new stainless steel LG fridge of a larger capacity!A few months later the icemaker broke. The replacement ice tray assembly (which I ordered directly from Liebherr) cost $110. The new tray lasted about 2 months before it broke again.I am totally disappointed with Liebherr product quality. I wish I had not chosen the product solely by its good looks. But the fact is, Liebherr is a niche player in the US and there is very limited review of its product quality. I simply did not have much data to base an informed buying decision on and took a chance on Liebherr. That turns out to be an expensive mistake.

Great fridge and customer service came through for me
Purchased this model in 2010 as part of a galley kitchen reno. Using only 24 inches for a fridge meant that I have a broom closet, which in my layout is a huge plus. Anyway, fridge was perfect for 5 years and then I began to have issues with ice build up in the freezer, inconsistent temperature in the fridge. In my area (DC environs) there are two authorized repair places and I ended up having visits from both over a period of months during which various sensors were replaced several times. Things would be fine for a month and then trouble started again. It was very frustrating during that time but I must say that my experience was unlike all the negative comments here about Liebherr customer service. Liebherr honored the warranty and after trying the various repairs they replaced the fridge without my having to push at all, even though it was close to the end of the 5 year warranty period. At one low point I researched other 24 inch models thinking there might be others on the market now and nothing comes close to this product.

Truly unreliable
We've owned one for 7 years but it's the second one. The first one was repaired so many times in warranty that I got to be friends with the repair guy. Super cool guy but horrible refrigerator. In the end it was repaired about 7-8 times in warranty and then it broke out of warranty and we were lucky our dealer fought for us and we got a replacement refrigerator which worked for a couple of years and then it started to break. I regret this purchase so much I can't even tell you.

A Lemon (I had to pick a star)
I bought this beautiful refrigerator at top price and continued to spend the next ten years paying to repair it. It is finally going out!!!

Not nearly as bad as they say
Yes, this is a company without substainial distribution here. I own two of these, one for at least 10 years and the other for 8 years. I write now because the ice maker quit for the first time on the 8 year old and I was searching for a solution and amazed to find the crumby ratings. Not sure of my model numbers but the same unit. They both have a drainage issue. A tube gets clogged once every year or two and you have to stick a flexible wire (a 3 ft. piece of lamp wire is the perfect tool) down a hole at the back of fridge (left hand side of the trough at the back of the bottom shelf). Problem solved. Not a bad price to pay for an otherwise competent, very well priced, handsome machine. Two friends have bought this unit on our recommendation. They are still our friends.

Stay away for this brand!!!
Do not buy Liebherr products. They have bad designs that fail, then you are forced to have a service person install expensive parts because the refuse to sell the actual .99 cent part that broke. I have this fridge and while we had several problems with the freezer seal and fan that were fixed under warranty, the ice maker tray broke (very common due to design and materials) and they do not sell the cheap plastic tray as a replacement part. They replace the ENTIRE ice maker. And they won't sell you the ice maker, even though it is held in by two tabs and slides right out, they forced you to go to a service person and pay them for a 5 minute repair. Horrible business practice. I've already over paid for this fridge. I'm not going to buy a $200+ part and pay someone to put it in, when it is a .99 cent tray that broken a 10 minute replacement. Stay away from this brand. I also remember seeing this same fridge in the show Holmes On Homes. It was available in Canada for half the price under another name brand. Living in Seattle I could have driven up and imported one myself for less than we paid for this one. When it finally dies we'll stick with a more reliable, better supported brand.
