Time Tracker Tags in a Learning Centre
Fantastic tool for supporting students with their focus and time management challenges. You can have 3 different students each using a timer at the same time. You or the student sets the amount of time student has to focus on the activity/assignment before she takes a break or moves on to something else. Timer beeps and/or flashes when time is up and timer is reset as soon as it is placed back in the charger. Very easy to use.

Wanted to love it despite the reviews, but it's truly not worth it.
I purchased this as a replacement for an analog Time Timer product that we had for 6 years (which was simple and we LOVED it). I had hoped this would be an improvement, but the user interface is really, REALLY poor. I am very tech savvy, and I find it VERY tedious to program and use. It's really too much work to cycle through all the hours, minutes, and seconds each and every time I want to change the timer settings- especially if I go a minute or an hour too far and have to cycle through all the numbers AGAIN! I understand trying to keep the buttons simple, but in this case it fails miserably because it is harder to use because of the limited interface. Also, if the cord accidentally becomes unplugged, the base unit and all three remote units emit this horrible., loud, high-pitched continuous beep, and the digital screens become garbled. I *finally* found a super tiny little hole on the bottom of the base unit labelled with a microscopic "Reset" label, so now I don't have to remove the batteries (which requires a screwdriver- safe but annoying because the power plug connection into the base unit is really easy to bump out of the socket, so it's happened at least once a week) to get it to stop screeching. My oldest child likes the wrist fobs for keeping track of time left, but they are not visual enough to keep her attention and deadlines slip right by. At least with the analog unit, you can easily tell when the red strip of time remaining is almost gone, it's time to hustle!I debated getting the Time Tracker Electronic Programmable unit (especially since it has a great visual cue system), but the reviews there also show that the usability leaves a lot to be desired. I am seriously considering returning this unit because it is so tedious to program different times for each use. The original analog Time Timer was such a help for our family; this, unfortunately, is a big step backwards, and I regret the purchase.

opened my eyes to Amazons terrible return policy
I am a Mother and a Den leader. I purchased this with the hopes of it working so well for so many things that I needed to do with my child and my den. It worked so well but only for the first week I got it. We started small on one task a day like reading for 10 min or watching T.V for only 30 min He enjoyed it and it did make him conscience of time and independent BTW the buzzer is not that loud but the light does flash when done. I thought of buying the On Task Time Timer but at fifty dollars that is a lot of money and I thought this a reasonable alternative to achieve the same goal. We started small one task a day timed and things were going fine. I even sent it to school with my son hoping to help my son stay focused in class and complete and stay on task. His teacher complained that he did not stay well focused in class and was very happy to see this timer. Well it died that day within one week of purchase. We switched batteries and unplugged and re-plugged this thing many times. After trying very hard to fix this thing I gave up and I finally called the company: Learning Resources asking about a refund or exchange they quickly pushed my back in Amazon's direction. If you are looking for a company that stands behind its products do not look here. If you did not buy it from their website then they don't care what happens to it. As for Amazon: So sorry too late to refund but please feel free to box it up at your expense and we will give you A SMALL PERCENT of what you paid for it. Gee, great while I'm at it why don't I just flush more money down the toilet because parents have an endless supply of cash to waste on items that don't work. Being bitter and sarcastic is the only balm I have for wasting my money and time on this product. I could have purchased my son a pair of shoes or something more useful than this. I can't even sell this as Amazon cheerfully suggest in its return menu. You know why?? BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK!!! And unlike these companies I do have an ounce of integrity and would not push a nonfunctional product off on an unsuspecting person.

Best money spent!
This item is well worth it's money! Even after reading the other reviews I decided to give the Time Tracker Tags a try and I'm so glad I did.Yes, SOMETIMES you have to adjust the tags in the unit to get them to connect, but we have the same trouble with our Wii remote charger and it's no big deal that it takes 2 extra seconds out of your day.We use our tags multiple times throughout the day:* Each kid gets three 30 minute sessions on the Wii, Computer, or TV (their choice). I love that mom and dad are no longer the 'bad guy' for telling them their time is up!* We use them for tracking reading time and love that we don't have to hear, "Mom, how much longer do I have to read?"* We've used them for kids in 'think time' so they knew when they could come back and play.* We've even sent one of our children out to play at a friends and told him to be back once the buzzer rang in time for dinner. Over-all, I love this product. With 4 kids ranging from 18mos to 10 years old, these tags have been tossed around and are still in-tact. I especially love that they help cause less arguing and contention in our home. Everyone who comes to our house comments on what a great idea these are.***One more thing, don't bother purchasing the seperate power supply. It already comes with one.

Don't waste your money!!
Arrived today, and will be sending it back tomorrow. The AC adapter is not straight forward as it comes with a packet of AC ends. You have to fiqure out which AC end goes in to the base and then connected it up to the rest of the AC adapter. This bit is fiddly. Nothing happened when it was connected and the power was on. Maybe i had a dodgy AC adapter as when you tweaked the wiring the base lit up but it had problems staying on.Then the tags,i set one for 30 minutes, did i hear it beep when the time was up? Nope!!!Did it light up? Nope!!For some reason it did lit up and stayed lit for longer then the 3 minutes when it was on the base and even another tag which i didn't use decided to join in and light up as well.Ended up taking the battery out of it.I bought this as i wanted my children to learn time management and responsibility. Maybe i should of bought a different egg timer for each of them instead and an egg timer would certainly be cheaper as well.
