Much higher quality than original equipment! K&N filters are on all my vehicles, off-road and on-road.The nut-head-weldment makes installation very easy given the filter location on the 800S is in the worst possible location on the entire engine. Plan on a 20 minute change-out and visually verify that no debris has entered the oil galley on the face of the engine. Make absolutely sure the entire area is thoroughly washed very VERY clean of debris prior to removal of the existing filter. Don't waste money on a filter-wrench --- just drive a flat-head screwdriver through the side of the original filter and spin it off that way --- it's messy - but there's no way around that either given the horizontal orientation of the filter. The new filter will be tightened with a socket and about a 6" extension with the passenger's seat and access panel removed. You also have to remove the right-rear tire to access the filter. I think the designer of the engine should be required to travel around the country doing nothing but filter change-outs. It's a horrible location.

I love these K&N oil filters. Its a reputable name brand so I know I'm good there but I can't stress enough how helpful the 17mm nut on the back of the filter is. ALL FILTERS SHOULD BE LIKE THIS! I hate removing a stock filter on an atv. Get a drop of oil on your fingers and you can't get the dang filter off! Lots of times theres no room for one of those bigger oil filter wrenches or a strap type wrench. With this filter, if you can get a 17mm wrench on it, you can get it off in a second! Also the same nut is cross drilled allowing you to run safety wire through it in case you're worried about the filter backing off. I've never had that issue with any filter but I think it's mostly racers who do that. Anyways don't waste time with other filters. THIS IS THE ONE!

The engineer who designed the oil filter placement on our SxS should be forced to work on them for at least a year; maybe ten; before they are allowed to design another. Trying to get a strap wrench on it is nearly impossible as you can't easily access it. However, the nut K&N puts on the end of these filters makes it easy to reach and get a wrench on to loosened it. At least some engineers learn!

I’ve ordered this product before and has been shipped carefully before, my last order my product looks like this in the shipping box. The product seems to be OK but the handling of it was not good. Hope it will be OK for my next oil change.

Excellent filter as all K&N I have ever used are. For our 1000 ranger, the nut on the end is wonderful since the filter is located in a difficult to reach location for strap, pliers-style, or ratchet end cap oil filter removal devices. Before, it was a pain to change filter, now easy.

Fits, a little longer than the Fram I had on previously. The welded nut at the end is really handy to tighten and remove. Good value and I’m sure the quality is good as it’s K&N. recommend.
