A heads up to anyone who menstruates! I drank this daily for a month because I read spearmint can help regulate hormones and make periods lighter and it ended up fully delaying my period by almost a week! Fortunately I had an idea what caused that, stopped drinking it, and got my period. I’m sure it effects people differently but just something to keep in mind if you are just getting this to enjoy a delicious, refreshing, and calming drink (which it also is) it is possibly going to impact your cycle. I never knew such a common tea could have such an effect! But, that also probably speaks to the quality. It’s the real deal, now I just need to find the right balance.

I'm glad I tried this tea out because I really love it. The tea is cut just enough to where it works with a lot of different strainers without too much shake getting out. But honestly, the tea tastes so good having some little leaf particles floating around when I use a strainer that lets smaller stuff escape isn't a big deal. It brews to a lovely scent and flavor. Mixed in with a little honey and it's a perfect way to end a day for me.

TLDR: I bought this for hormonal cystic acne, it worked wonders. From what I read it doesn’t work on all types of hormonal acne, but it did for me. Has the plus side of tasting delicious. With everyday use this tin lasted me about 2 months. I had perfect skin growing up. At ~28 that changed drastically and I began getting hormonal cystic acne about a week before, and throughout my period. This last year or so has been the worst, getting anywhere from 4 - 6 cysts around my chin every month. My skin was never clear, always hurt and itched. My lymph nodes below my chin would swell and hurt. I was ready to go to a doctor (really should have before this point), and then read an article about spearmint tea helping with hormonal cystic acne. I figured I’d give it a month or two to see if it helped, and I have no regrets. After the first month, I was down to one cyst. This last month I had NONE. I can’t tell you what a life changer this is. Anyone who’s had serious acne can tell you how emotionally draining it can be. I wish I had found this sooner! I feel so much more confident at work, as I don’t have to be embarrassed by my skin any more. Onto the taste of the tea review: this stuff is delicious. I have a cup every morning, and sometimes at night. After I realized this was working I made the mistake of buying a brand that had it in packets to take to work with me, and it tasted pretty horrible by comparison. A+ for The Tao of Tea.

It's a great tea but it took me a while to find a tea strainer that could filter this extremely fine tea. The first time I tried it, the tea leaves leaked everywhere into my drink and even with a fine tea strainer some leaves still get through. if you don't mind that then I would 100% recommend! I bought it to try and help with my hormonal acne, hopefully it helps. :)

If you can’t get ahold of fresh spearmint for tea, this is a very good option! The flavor is nice and strong. The tea does have fine bits, so they do escape from a ball strainer. I don’t mind, but many do. I was hoping for full leaf for the price, but I think it’s still a good value for how much you get. The canister isn’t a high end looking tin like the pics in the older reviews. It has a plastic lid that’s plunged into a cardboard canister. If you’re gifting, just be aware of that.

Honestly I wasn’t expecting much for a spearmint tea, but wow, this is delicious! The smell is SOOO good. I’ve used it a few times when I had heart burn and both times my heart burn stopped (too much spicy food -_-) I’m definitely buying more! Hopefully the quality never changes. Heart burn isn’t even why I bought it though.. I use it to mix with other tea for the health benefits.

This spearmint tea comes in a pretty tin (great for storing cookies afterwards). It has a fresh smell like the mint in one's backyard. The tea is strong and tastes great. See University of Maryland on spearmint and Hirsutism: "Spearmint tea (Mentha spicata), 1 cup two times per day. A preliminary study found that women with hirsutism who drank spearmint tea had less free testosterone (a male hormone) in their blood. The researchers thought that the tea might reduce symptoms of mild hirsutism. Another study found that spearmint tea lowered androgen levels in women who had PCOS." This tea helped me to be sleepy immediately. This spearmint tin listed Egypt as the country of origin. But on Tao of Tea website, the spearmint tin is labeled as From USA. I'm confused as to where this spearmint is grown. I hope Tao of Tea clarify this.
