Briggs & Stratton 699374 Fuel Tank

This fuel tank was a perfect match for my engine. The plastic is thick and durable, and the fit was spot on. I had no issues with leaks or alignment during installation. It feels like a high-quality OEM part. Highly recommended if you need a reliable replacement for your equipment.

I mean it is a fuel tank, it is Briggs and Stratton, and it fits my power washer. Installation was mostly painless, but one of the screw holes on the ring was a touch out of place. I was able to get it to line up but it was a little bit more of a pain than I had wanted. Installation and reassembly probably took 20 minutes, even with putting the new fuel line in. This one replaced the original that had enough JB weld and tank repair on it to choke a horse, but it kept leaking and when I am going to be setting it in my front yard to start stripping paint off the eaves of my house, I don't want gas to leak into my grass. I filled it with gas, and it doesn't leak. Did put in a new hose, and new clamps, but it seems to be doing good. I used it some last night, and refilled the fuel tank, and this morning it still was full and no signs of leakage. I do have to say the elbow coming off the bottom of the tank for the line, it doesn't feel real sturdy. It may get some reinforcement in the future, but it works great and I was able to run the power washer to get ready for my next major project.

This gas tank was a perfect fit, Briggs & Stratton replacement part for my Weed Eater lawnmower, model WE677MHA which employs a 5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine. I didn't have the gas tank part number to know if this tank would fit my mower but I ordered the tank anyway based upon the tank picture presented on the Amazon product page. I was relieved and happy to find that it fit perfectly and solved my gasoline leaks which occurred when the tank was filled more than half way -- the gasoline leaked out of several spots along the seam between the top and bottom halves. The mower is quite old but still starts and mows well so I'm glad to be able to fill the tank fully and use the mower until I can no longer repair it myself economically. Even though the fuel tank seemed to be priced a bit high, I'm very satisfied now that it's installed and operational. I trust it will last as long as the original tank. Good luck.

I had read that the original gas tank was susceptible to cracks and leaks, and sure enough, mine did. I was able to remedy that with J-weld, which worked fine for a year, and then fell off. I was able to re-apply the J-weld and it worked fine again, but I decided to purchase this new tank anyway, so as not to have to deal with the crack any longer. It fit perfectly, which was my biggest concern, and is easy to switch out with the old tank. The only thing I wish it did come with were the 3 mounting screws, as I had lost two from the previous tank. I made due with screws I had, but it would have been nice to have the mounting screws come with the new tank.

Appreciably less expensive than offered years earlier, and most likely by a different vendor - I just don't recall. At the time my solution for the split tank was to just fill below the crack. Checking now and finding this option at the lower price prompted pulling the trigger now. Quality is oem level, and fit is perfect. It has resulted in now NOT having to replace an otherwise perfectly operating mower.

Fit was perfect. Lost some of the look of the original due to covers were made onto the original gas tank. But it is a 20 year old wood splitter and the tank doesn't leak. 10 minutes to install.

Ordered May 9, and it was lost in transit. Reordered May 26 and it arrived late, June 3, due to the Rona and the Riots, I'm guessing. Realistically, I can't complain too much about the delays. Some folks got it a lot worse than me. Anyhoo, the tank fits perfectly, is a direct factory Briggs & Stratton replacement, and functions as intended. It came with a new gas cap too, BTW. Mower is good to go now, but unfortunately, my grass is 3 feet high. Time to call in the billy goats!

My 20 year old Briggs and Stratton mower now looks and runs like new. I hope this tank will last for another 20 years.
