9500 ix one of the best I have seen.
This is a Great Radar detector! It is true what they say it gets smarter the more you drive. Also I love that option where it displays your speed, it makes you aware of your speed. Works great when my 15 year old son, is driving and I want to know how fast he is going I can always look at the Radar Detector and keep a close eye on what his speed is at. The 9500 ix is amazing on the open highway. when the detector goes off, you know that there is a threat, coming up. You do get a few false alarms through the city however most of these are x band( at least where I live) and once the 9500ix learns that these are false, it locks them out so you don't have to worry about them again. When I first purchased the 9500 ix I was wondering if it was working because it was quiet and hardly went off. However that was not the case, it has alerted me numerous times of serious threats, and has made me aware of just how many hits, that you really get on the highway. Paying close attention to the 9500 ix, and having some great common sense, along with paying attention to your surroundings, on the highway. You should be able to avoid getting a speeding violation. the 9500 ix gives you adequate waning. and once you are able to determine how close the threat is, you will become an expert on how police use their radar tactics. I have not been hit by a laser yet, so I cannot comment on how well that works. As far as the Radar is concerned This is a great tool to help you drive smarter. It makes you pay more attention to your driving, and in return makes you a better driver. Spend the money you will not regret it. Watch on you tube. Look up Radar Roy he has a lot of informative information about this product. There are a lot of reviews to help you make your decision. If you do a lot of Driving This is the product for you. The only thing that I would like to see, is that I wish you did not have to buy the special escort live cord to use escort live. it is too bad you could not just pay the fee, and then just Bluetooth your I phone to the 9500 ix . I hope this info is helpful to you. Thanks....

Escort 9500IX or the Escort Redline
Decisions, decisions, decisions. I couldn't decide so I got both. They are both at the top of their class. First the red line. It seems to have a longer range for laser than the 9500ix. The other bands of concern the K and ka band seem to be about the same. They both went off simultaneously and it was so close I just called it a draw. The red line is NOT programmable nor can you update it. It is a solid choice and for the highway is perhaps a tad better due to its laser capability. It will give you a very small window to correct your speed before you are toast. The 9500ix will not. If you are hit,its over. That is why I have a Blinder M47 laser jammer as well. Check it out at [...] The9500ix is a work of art as well, with extra features. You can get software updated as well as red light and speed camera updates. It too works flawlessly and you can actually program out known false alerts or the 9500ix will do it for you after 3 encounters with the false signal. I like being able to update the red light and speed cameras online, which is good when you are traveling in another state. You can also add any new speed trap or red light camera manually as you encounter them thru your iphone by hitting a button on the live phone app. Yep,there is an app for that. And a very cool one as it turns your iphone display into a speed trap information center. Your iphone displays a map, your speed and other neat tools. It works with both units, but is especially good with the feature rich 9500ix. You actually get "live" info from your fellow drivers about local speed traps. Go to Escorts web site for more info. You must have an Escort live cord(a 79 dollar option, but really a must have) for the app on your iphone or android to work and Escort has a special going on bundling their smart cords right now. One last thing on the 9500ix. You have to put it on your dash or window so it has a line of sight to the sky so it can receive GPS signals. All in all both are winners at 499 dollars. I got mine thru Amazon partner the other day for 419 with free shipping. In my opinion the 9500ix is a little more bang for your buck! I still have both though. Update on April 8th.2012. After a couple months of having both, I made the decision to sell the redline and get another 9500ix. The 9500ix is just too feature rich and being programmable really turns the tide for me. Along with the smart cord and my blinderM47 laser jammer, I have the best team.
